About This Event: 
Participants will learn ways to identify, respond and address discrimination in the workplace. This culture of respect is critical for HR Professionals to cultivate within the workplace. How do we affirmatively respond to issues? Do we empower employees to address issues and raise them without fear of retaliation? What implications does the Me Too movement have for employers, human resource professionals and employees?

After this session, participants will be able to:
1) Understand State & Federal laws
2) Indentify conduct that can be discriminating
3) Become familiar with local court rulings

About the Speaker:
Elizabeth Francis Headshot

Elizabeth Francis assists clients with employment-related litigation and provides counsel to clients on a variety of workplace issues, including internal investigations, compliance with wage and hour laws, and drafting employment agreements. She represents both public and private employers in litigation, particularly disputes involving claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation and breaches of employment agreements.   
Elizabeth received her Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law in 2011 where she graduated cum laude. While in law school, she served as a special contributor to the Human Rights Brief and participated in the Public International Law and Policy Group legal clinic, where she assisted the government of Uganda in establishing a war crimes tribunal focused on the prosecution of Lord’s Resistance Army members.
